Course content

Previous graduates have progressed to roles such as finance controller, corporate treasurer, financial analyst and more.

Studying this MSc in Finance will equip you for a successful career in financial and non-financial institutions.

You’ll gain an in-depth understanding of corporate finance and explore how companies are analysed and valuated from accounting and financial perspectives.

You’ll learn how to manage financial resources and risks in businesses, building a well-integrated knowledge of management and financial accounting, finance and investment.

When you graduate, you’ll be able to relate these areas to the wider issues of management and corporate strategy. You’ll feel confident to apply for high-level jobs in the financial industries.

We worked with professionals at Barclays, RBS Capital Markets, Commerzbank AG, Standard Chartered Bank and NatWest Bank to develop this course.

The programme is also accredited by the Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT), which means you could be exempt from some of its exams when you graduate.

During the course, you’ll learn from research-active staff, get to grips with cutting-edge knowledge and study modules that align with professional bodies.

You’ll explore the latest developments in the accounting and finance sector and work on real-life cases and financial data platforms such as Bloomberg and Thomson DataStream Advance.

Please note: from September 2026, the awarding title of this course will change to Finance and Investment MSc, in order to better reflect the content of the programme. If you have any questions regarding this change, please email the Faculty Admissions Office.
