Where is University of Bath and what’s the setting like?
Bath is a lively, friendly, and historic city surrounded by beautiful countryside. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, both as one of the Great Spas of Europe and for its Roman heritage and Georgian architecture.
The city is well connected; you can reach London from Bath by train in 1hour 20 minutes or Bristol in 12 minutes. From Bath you can explore the beautiful South West of England. You could visit the historic monument of Stonehenge, go to the Jurassic Coast of Dorset and Devon, surf in Cornwall, or visit the nearby cities of Bristol and Cardiff.
Our vibrant campus, and location right on the edge of the city of Bath, offer sporting, social and cultural opportunities.

We have a number of scholarship schemes available with a range of eligibility. Explore all our scholarships.

Faculties of Science, Humanities & Social Sciences and Engineering & Design
- Bath Global Excellence Scholarship: awarded for academic excellence, we’re offering up to 250 scholarships worth £10,00 available to eligible international students.
- The Diamond Scholarship: awarded for academic excellence to applicants from the UK. Awards are worth £3,000.
- Bath Merit scholarships: over 100 scholarships worth £5,000 each. Open to high achieving international students from selected countries.
School of Management
Up to £3 million in scholarships for high-achieving home or international master’s students. We also offer MBA scholarships.

What is student life like at the University of Bath?
The University of Bath offers a friendly, multicultural campus with plenty of places to eat, socialise and enjoy top class sports facilities. The Students’ Union is central to student life, with nearly 200 societies and clubs for all interests.
Just beyond campus is the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bath, known for its culture, architecture and excellent transport links.
Student Support provides comprehensive wellbeing, mental health, disability, financial and international support, including 24/7 confidential counselling. The Security team works closely with support services to help keep students safe and supported at all times.
What facilities does the University of Bath offer?
The University’s campus is set on attractive rural grounds overlooking the historic city of Bath. You don’t have to walk far to reach facilities like the Library, postgraduate common rooms, shops, and a post office.
In the last decade the University has invested over £450 million in our campus. This includes new accommodation, academic buildings and sport facilities such as an Olympic legacy-swimming pool and a gym and fitness centre expanded across three floors.
Bath is the perfect blend of history and creativity. I love exploring independent bookstores and coffee shops after a study session. The city is walkable, warm, and filled with student-friendly spaces. Plus, the local events and small-business community provide exciting networking opportunities for someone like me with entrepreneurial interests.

How do you apply to the University of Bath?
You can apply to Bath by first choosing your master’s course and checking the entry requirements and application deadline on its course page. Apply early, as courses fill quickly and you may need time for funding, accommodation or a visa. Submit your online application with a personal statement, transcript, certificate (if available), academic reference and CV; international applicants must also provide passport details, degree documents and translations if needed, plus any English language test results. After submitting, you can track your progress through the Application Tracker and use it to accept your offer, noting that some courses require a deposit.
