About National Film and Television School
As one of the leading film schools in the world, the National Film and Television School (NFTS) operates like a major studio, with state-of-the-art production facilities that are essential for creating outstanding content for film, TV, games, animation, design, and much more! Our wide range of courses are some of the most innovative in the world, enabling you to channel your passion into real world skills.
In 2018, the NFTS was awarded both the BAFTA for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema and the Queen's Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education. It is the only UK film school that is continuously recognised by The Hollywood Reporter in their top international film schools list, recognising the School for its excellence in teaching, innovation and alumni success. It’s a truly exciting and transformational place to kickstart your creative career.
All of our courses are designed to equip you with the essential skills needed to make an impact in the film, television and games industries as soon as you graduate.
The NFTS runs more behind-the-camera courses than any other film school in the world, as well as numerous short courses, including specialisms such as directing and producing science and natural history, location sound recording, production accounting, games design and development and marketing, distribution, sales and exhibition. Find out more about our courses on our website.
Supported by key industry partnerships, you will benefit from world class tuition, industry-standard facilities and an outstanding programme of exclusive Masterclasses.
The School has a graduate employment rate of over 90%. Graduates of the National Film and Television School go on to become key creative leaders for much of the UK’s largest and most high-profile film, television and games content.
Accessible Accommodation
The NFTS will be providing new purpose-built accessible accommodation for students with physical access requirements from January 2027.
As part of NFTS’s expansion to its Main Campus in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, the accommodation will be housed within the newly named The Cubby Broccoli Building. It will offer nine fully accessible rooms that will enable students with physical access requirements to participate fully in all aspects of NFTS life.
This is part of NFTS’s ongoing commitment to creating an inclusive and accessible learning environment enabling all students to live and study independently.
Generous funding available
As an institution that develops the next generation of creative talent, we feel a special responsibility to ensure our creative industries reflect the full diversity of our country. We are committed to equality of opportunity and building a culturally diverse student body of film, TV and games makers of the future. So if you have the talent and the commitment, we want to give you the opportunity to fulfil your potential.
The NFTS awards more scholarships and bursaries to British students, relative to the size of our student body, than almost any other educational institution in the UK with close to £2,000,000 available in funding each year. Please visit our funding guide to find out more.
