About Best Practice Network

Best Practice Network (BPN) is a national training provider committed to improving outcomes for children and young people. We believe every child, regardless of their background, deserves an excellent education, and great teachers make that possible.

We work in partnership with schools and education professionals across England to deliver high-quality training and qualifications, supporting the next generation of teachers to develop the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to make a lasting difference in the classroom.

Teaching is a career where you see the difference you make every day, and we’re here to help you get there.

Our values

Our work is guided by four core values that shape how we support our learners:

  • Inspire learning: We support your personal and professional growth while you develop as an educator.
  • Work together: Collaboration and strong relationships are at the heart of everything we do.
  • Act with integrity: We are open, straightforward and always deliver on our promises.
  • Strive for excellence: We set high expectations, innovate and continuously improve our programmes and systems.

Our Initial Teacher Training programme

Over 11 months, you’ll be based in a local school four days a week, observing, supporting and gradually leading learning while building your knowledge and confidence as a teacher.

One day each week is dedicated to professional learning through live online sessions and, where possible, face-to-face group training. You’ll take part in expert-led sessions covering:

  • Behaviour management
  • Evidence-informed teaching strategies
  • Subject-specific pedagogy

This blended approach helps you connect theory with classroom practice from the very start.

Support throughout your training

Starting a teaching career is exciting, but it can also feel daunting. Support is central to everything we do, and we work closely with partner schools to ensure our student teachers are supported at every stage.

During your training, you’ll benefit from:

  • A dedicated personal tutor
  • An experienced in-school mentor
  • Access to a wellbeing team
  • Regular feedback to support your development
  • A nationwide network of student teachers across the country

Brilliant training provider, great course structure and lots of support and help throughout. Enjoyed my course so much I’ve signed up for another.

Our programmes are designed around the realities of school life, with structured support, clear progression and a strong focus on wellbeing and behaviour, helping you feel confident from your first day in the classroom.
